Many Mexicans choose to leave their native country and look for better economic opportunities in the U.S and send dollars to their families in Mexico. For some, this is only a temporary stay in America while working. When considering to offer a job to a foreign professional, there are usually questions about the relocation options, process, cost of employment – based immigration visas. For Mexican citizens require TN visa for entry into the United States. Once receiving approval Mexican citizens can apply for entrance at select U.S ports. The purpose was to strengthen business and trade relations between the United States and mexico.The emigration phenomenon, in the case of Mexico, is diverse and varied through the country. The North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, brought a few excellent changes that give Mexican citizens a relatively easy path to obtaining work authorization in the United States. One of these key improvements is the TN program, which allows Mexican to enter the U.S. and work for a U.S. employer. The TN visa was created by NAFTA (the North American Free Trade Agreement). The TN visa allows only Canadian and Mexican citizens to come to the U.S. to work for a U.S. employer. Mexican citizens seeking to enter the U.S. as TN workers must first apply for a TN visa stamp at a U.S. consulate or embassy. As a Mexican citizen, you will need to keep this in mind if you are planning to accept a TN position with a U.S. employer.

To qualify for a TN visa, you must prove that you are a citizen of Mexico, that you have a job offer with a U.S. employer, and that your position qualifies for the TN visa under NAFTA. Examples include accountants, engineers, lawyers, pharmacists, scientists, and teachers. Self-employment is not accepted for this visa. Also submits evidence that the participant matches the credentials and educational requirements of the position.

There are many different types IT professionals that exist within the IT industry.  Each type focuses on more than one element of computer system analysis or maintenance. Within the TN visa occupation list, there are some IT-related professional occupations that can qualify for the TN visa and some that cannot. Software or Hardware Engineers, Computer Systems Analysts, Computer Programmers, Management Consultant are some of the considerations.

There are numerous classes of other people who can apply for a special “work permit” from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). They must submit their application before they start working.If you come to the U.S. with a nonimmigrant visa, you will need to depart the U.S. by the date of your visa expiration (unless you apply to extend your visa). 

As a TN applicant, you will likely need to present your degree(s) and transcript(s) from your college or university education. If these documents are in Spanish, you should strongly consider having a certified translator translate these documents into English. Including such translations with your materials can facilitate the processing of your application.
